Advanced Settings Dialog Box

The Advanced Settings dialog box gives the user to the advanced settings of LockOnDemand.

1AutoLock Check

AutoLock Check The AutoLock check controls whether an unlocked folder is automatically locked after the number of minutes specified in the Idle Time Field has passed without any activity in the folder. This feature is useful if you only need to occasionally access a protected folder, and relieves your from remembering to re-lock a protected folder, giving you greater security.

2Show Locked Folder check

Show Locked  Folder check The Show Locked Folder check controls the display of locked folders in any generated directory listing. By default a locked folder is not visible in any directory listing. If you would like the protected folder to be displayed in directory listed, but not accessible unless it is unlocked, check this setting.

3AutoPrompt Check

AutoPrompt Check The AutoPrompt check controls whether LockOnDemand will automatically prompt the user for a password when attempting to access a locked folder. The Show Locked Folder option must be enabled before this option is available.

4No Encryption Radio Button

No Encryption Radio Button The No Encryption Radio Button instructs LockOnDemand to never encrypt locked folders.

5Encrypt Locked Folders Radio Button

Encrypt Locked Folders Radio Button The Encypt folders when Locked Radio Button instructs LockOnDemand to encrypt protected folders when they are locked. A folder may be locked via AutoLock, using the LockOnDemand Manager, shutting down the LockOnDemand Manager application or Logging off. Encrypted folders are automatically decrypted when a folder is unlocked. This option is not available when the Show Locked Folders check is set.

6Encrypt on Logoff Radio Button

Encrypt on Logoff Radio Button The Encypt on Logoff instructs LockOnDemand to encrypt protected folders only when you logoff or shutdown the LockOnDemand Manager. The the protected folder becomes locked due to an AutoLock timeout, or manually locked via the user interface, the folder is not encrypted. This feature is useful if you wish to limited access while you are logged into a machine, but get the strongest protection when you are logged out, this feature is helps avoid the delays of encryting and decrypting a folder if you regularly lock and unlock the folder.

7Idle Time Field

Idle Time Field The Idle Time field is the number of minutes an unlocked folder must be idle (no file activity) before the folder is automatically locked. This field is only enabled if the AutoLock check is set.

8OK button

OK button The OK Button saves all the changes made in the Advanced Settings dialog box, and returns the user to the <<Protect a Folder>> dialog box.

9Cancel button

Cancel button The Cancel Button returns the user to the <<Protect a Folder>> dialog box with out making any changes to the current settings.
